Hats off to you and funny Kiana sayings

Kiana and Maile are enjoying wearing these cute knitted hats lately (and keeping them on)! I just think they are adorable, so naturally I got some pictures.

This is just a funny one of Maile and Dondi with bedhead.

I also wanted to write down some funny phrases Kiana says so that I can remember them:

She calls Swimming suits swimming soups. "Mom, I want to where my swimming soup." and she calls tattoos attitudes. "Mom, why can't I have an attitude like Dondi?" and she still calls her canker sore a kangaroo. "I have the kangaroo in my mouth and it hurts so bad." We have been telling her we might take her to Build A Bear for her birthday and so she asks everyday when we are going to go to Panda Bear. It is just so funny the things they hear. Maybe I just need to say my words clearer!

Balloon Butterflys

My kids can't get enough of these ballon creations, which is funny since Steve has a talent for making them, we just need to buy him the stuff.We went to the County fair and the girls couldn't decide what they wanted until the girl in front of them got a butterfly. They never last long. It was so windy, and I was trying to get my girls to follow me, and Maile's blew away and started popping. I felt like such a dork chasing after it. Good thing someone finally caught it for me. Then of course, there were tears. It is almost more work then it is worth!

Helping Grandma

Maile loves to help grandma with her chores like watering the flowers, putting dishes in the dishwasher, or washing them in the sink. It is not as fun to help mom, because I don't let her play with the water, that's why grandma's are the best.
I thought Maile looked so cute, I just had to take these. Kiana laughed so hard, saying Maile looked like Santa. I am so grateful that my kids adore their grandparents. My parents are such a big help and always just a phone call away.

Family Reunion

My family reunion on my mom's side was at This Pioneer Heritage Place in Logan. It was a nice place with lots of fun activities. We stayed the night there in an Indian Teepee, not my favorite activity. This Teepee didn't have the bottom connected to the top, so, my first clue this would be an interesting night, mouse droppings everywhere. I couldn't sleep all night hearing the miss running around, in the light, I saw quite a few too.Our reunion was a two day get together. The first night we just got to hang out with family and cousins and enjoy the fire. The fire always scares me with kids, but they stayed away and did good.The next day was full of fun filled pioneer activities. The girls just loved it. Between petting goats, feeding pigs, riding horses and trains, and water activities, they were exhausted. Did you know Steve loves goats? His face says pure joy!I think Kiana and Maile's favorite were the horses.

And then there was this small train, but it kept breaking down and so they weren't able to ride it much. I think they still liked it.There were quite a few pioneer games. Here they are throwing a circle with sticks. There were also handcarts to push and pioneer toys to buy. The girls spent a lot of time in these fountain/sprinlers. They got soaking wet and soaked up all the fun.

I love spending time with family and wish we could do it more often (minus the mice). We had so much fun talking and catching up and playing in the sun.

Bike Safety

My parents had a bike safety class for their scouts. It is something they have to pass off. They invited the scouts families and Kiana got to attend also. She was pretty excited to get to take her bike to grandpa and grandma's church. Office Glen Tomboc came and taught the class. He set up an obstacle course with stop signs and yield signs. I think she learned some good things.
Her and grandpa love to ride bikes, I wish they had more time to get out together. Hopefully she can be safe while riding. The officer also gave them some books, crayons, and a wooden airplane. Heaven for my creative little girls!

Liberty Park

Liberty Park is such a fun place to play and cool off in the summer and we have had the opportunity to go on many adventures there with some of our friends there.

They have these water ponds that are called the canyons that signifiy each of the canyons in the Salt Lake Valley (I think there are 8 or 9). And then all the canyons converge into a small pool at the bottom. For this adventure we have Crystal and her kids to accompany us. They are always so much fun and my kids look up to her kids so much, good thing they are great kids. Afterwards, we went and got slurpees!!Now doesn't that look fun and cool.

The next time we went with our friends the Jowers'. Their girls are the same age as mine and they have such a good time together. We went and had lunch and then we were going to go to the canyons, but it was closed, so the beauty of Liberty Park, we just walked over to the splash pad and playground. I think the girls needed a little more coaxing here because they don't like to spashed with cold water as much. But it just took a matter of minutes before they were soaked. One this day, there was a fire near by, and we kept hearing the sirens, seeing the black smoke, and worrying. Later, we found out 3 houses burnt down. It was sad.

Sometimes with work and everything, it is hard to get out and play and enjoy the summer. Thanks to good friends who work around my schedule and come and hang out with my crazy group. We have the best people in our lives, love ya!!

4th of July (I know, I'm late)

Our 4th of July was nice and relaxed. Steve actually had off and we were able to go to the local parade together. We always get to sit by all of my family and we get breakfast across the street and wait for the parade.

My nephews were in the parade on this fire truck. Don't they look excited. They sure are cute and give us the best candy!
Kiana and Maile are waiting for the parade with their huge bucket. That bucket actually got filled twice. We still have candy coming out our ears.

Kiana is petting one of the dogs in the parade sponsoring a pet store. She loves dogs, though Daddy will never give in and let her have one.
A funny story, Kiana's friend was getting his face painted and Kiana really wanted it done too. I didn't think it was worth it for 5 bucks and the line was forever long, so I told her we didn't have any money. A nice teenage girl, that we don't know, heard her complaining and felt bad, gave her 5 bucks and left before we could give it back or even thank her. It was sweet, but now Kiana thinks someone will always give her money, like at Lagoon with squirting people or the zoo for money to feed animals. She whines and complains and waits, how do I teach her she can't always have everything when people look at my cute girl and give her anything?? She did love her butterfly though, even if it only stayed on for a few minutes.

This is a picture of Steve with a good buddy Maurice that he grew up with. It is nice to run into people you haven't seen forever.

Steve actually had to work later that night, so he went to bed and the rest of us did before fireworks even started. We are party poopers!!
