Birthday at the Park

We had all of our family and a few friends meet us at a park near our home for Maile's birthday party. We made a super easy cake and had KFC. We just put animals on her cake for the zoo theme and she actually got a lot of zoo stuffed animals that she has to have with her at all times. Maile enjoyed licking the frosting off of the plastic animals, you can do whatever you want when it's your birthday =). Thanks for everyone that came and spolied her, she thinks she wants a birthday every day now.

Maile's birthday

Maile is finally 2. She has been acting it for quite sometime. She is good at the tantrums and the fighting with her sister. She can get into anyting and wants to do it all by herself. She is such a tease (she will take anyones toy and just run away), and she is so oppinionated. She is still the cutest little thing that loves to make people laugh. She is such a joy in our family.

We had an exciting day planned with Maile. We first took pictures of the girls in Maile's birthday dresses.

I had to work that morning, and then we headed for the zoo. Who doesn't love the zoo, and we had promised to get her an elephant there for her birthday!

Miss Keeley looking cute, as always!

My girls are so cute! They had a lot of fun, but we had to leave before they were ready to go to meet everyone else for her birthday party at the park (to come in a later post.) Thanks to Dondi and Mom for coming with us. We did pick up a huge elephant and Dondi got her a Tiger and a Giraffe. She has to sleep with them every night and won't go to bed until she has all three. Kiana picked up a white tiger that we call a snow leopard since they don't have white tigers at this zoo. Boy, these girls are spoiled, but we love it.

Summer Sprinklers

The girls have been so excited to play outside in the sprinklers, but when Steve got it all set up, they didn't want to get near the water and the spray. We kind of forced them to, but it lasted all of ten minutes. Here are a few good pictures.
I am glad that they have each other to play with, and once in awhile can be good friends.

Keeley with Great Grandma

So, my niece and nephew graduated and had a huge party at the end of June (I am so far behind.) I got tons of pictures of the occasion, but for some reason, I can't find any of the pictures except for these cute ones of Keeley with Grandma Niesporek.
They turned out cute, but I fell bad I didn't get any of the other ones. There was good food and dancing and lots of people. My nephew played with his band and rocked the place. I can't believe they are old enough to be going to college, especially when my husband is STILL going. I am very proud of them. Congrats Devan and Elizabeth!!

Grandma's 80th

Turning 80 is a big deal, and so for Grandma's 80th, we had to have a big party. One of my aunt's put it all together. It was a surprise party with lots of people. There was a band, a ventriliquist, dancing, photography, great food and fun.
It was nice to see family that we haven't seen in awhile and celebrate with grandma. She was so surprised and we had a lot of fun.

Bee's Games

Steve loves to plan last minute outings. The are super fun, but I don't get to prepare much. He has been calling me from school wanting to go to a game for awhile, and I couldn't think of a reason why not this time, so we went.
We usually just get the seats on the lawn and bring our blankets. The day we went, they had free meals for all the kids. The girls enjoyed a hotdog, drink, chips, and a snack. Steve also took them on the train ride and to the playground they have there. Kiana also got a balloon flower, which popped, and she begged for another. We had to go and wait in line and get both girls more balloon makings. The second one Kiana got was a princess wand and Maile got a dog, both of which also popped soon after, which made for many tears.
Maile is crying here because her balloon had already popped!! You really can't win either way. These last minute spontaneous outings can be hectic, but I'm glad we can go as a family and have fun and make memories. I guess I can't expect too much different with the crazy schedule my husband has to keep with work and school, I just have to embrace the moments when they come.

Mystery Date Party

My sister Angela has been planning a mystery date party for months when she knew she would be coming to Utah. She paid for a script, planned all the details, and had us each bring a dish from Spain for our Spanish Cuisine. Our mystery party was called Caught in a Spiders Web. It was a lot of fun to do with our family. For those unfamiliar with a mystery date party, you get a group together, have a part to play and dress like, and it can be scripted or unscripted. It is kind of like the movie Clue, where everyone is trying to find out who the killer is amongst all those in the room. There is dinner and acts in between. It is a lot of fun.

Here we are all just listening to clues. Notice everyone is dresses up differently. Some people really dressed their parts well.My mom was a spanish hotel maid and Keith was a laid-back, dancing bartender. They look good! This is Evan, Angela's brother in-law, and his fiancee. They were married later that week. Their parts were, obviously, the chef, and a show girl. In the story, she was actually the killer of the hotel owner because he kept flirting with her and asking her to run away and marry him or he would fire her and cause problems. In each story, everyone has a reason to kill him, so you are working through all the clues to find out wo really did it.

This is me and Steve (bad picture). We were taking it ourselves and had the window behind us. There weren't enough girl parts, so as you might be able to tell with the hat and moustache, I am a male gardner. It was kind of a fun role. I think Steve was like a bellhop or something.

The Grub: Mormon sangria, spanish chicken, apitizers, fruit, salad, spanish potato salad, a tuna fish/avacado mix, deserts. It sure was yummy!

Here is Dondi and Keeley. Dondi was also a hotel maid. She had to keep getting up with Keeley which is why is was standing half of the party.

Here are some after party pictures. KC and Chani and Kiana, Maile trying on Daddy's hat, Keith taking pictures, and one of Keeley on my floor. Not in that order, but you get the idea!! We had such a good time together. I think my favorite time is family time and it was great for Angela to come up with this idea. And anytime there is food, I'm all in!
