The Canyons @ Liberty Park

Probably about a month ago, our AC went out and we had to figure out things to do besides sitting at home being miserable.  One day we went shoe shopping and then met some friends at Liberty Park.  The girls were at each others throats, a daily occurance, so I wasn't sure I wanted to go, but it was nice to let them play a little, especially with the summer quickly winding down.

We love these cute ponds at Liberty Park and you can cool down without getting soaking wet!

These girls couldn't slow down for a picture...

Family Bowling

The bowling ally has a summer bowling program that Steve and the girls participated in.  It was nice for them to do together and they went about ever three weeks.  The last time I was able to go with them, and we had a lot of fun!!
Kiana is quite the bowler in real life and on the wii!  She loves it.
I think the ball is bigger then her!

Pretty People Pics

We went to Fotofly and got some new family pictures. I love them, but Kiana didn't really want to smile. I still think they are great though and I am having a hard time choosing my favorites and the ones I need to get printed.

Kindergartner Kiana

Finally!! And Already!!! My first baby started preschool. She is almost 6, so we have been waiting for this for awhile since all her friends went last year, but I can't believe how fast it all happened. She is still my baby! It was really hard for Kiana when Maile started last week, but she was so ready this morning. She got to meet her teacher yesterday, Mrs. Quist, and I think they will be a good fit. I hear she is very artisitic and loves doing music and she will work with Kiana being a little ahead in reading!
Kiana has been so excited for school. She got to go to the elementary for a summer school program, and she got to play on the playground then. Since then, she often talks of the monkey bars. The first thing, and only thing she did when she got there...the monkey bars! And here is Kiana sportin' her new cool school hat they made!We are all so excited for our first kindergartner! It will be wierd to not just be able to go and do, to have to work around the school schedule. Dad has really wanted to see Kiana for her first day, and hurried home to be apart of it. He also gave her a sweet blessing last night to get her ready! We are happy to have a Daddy who is worthy and willing to bless us, love ya Dad!
So, we go to pick up Kiana, I am so excited to see her, and she is crying. I thought, "Oh no, what happened on her first day?!?". I was a little worried. No, my girl is crying because she wanted to go on the bus. I couldn't even get her to tell me about her day because she wouldn't stop crying over the bus. My Kiana girl, never ceases to amaze me!

Maile starts school

Maile has been a little apprehensive to start preschool. She was excited, but Kiana doesn't start school until next week, and so for her to leave by herself was scary. We met her teacher last week at Parent night, and she saw a few friends there. She was also pretty excited about the new clothes, and so she was easily persuaded in going.

Maile was nervous about a Father's blessing but agreed to one. Thanks Steve for helping her on her first day and making it special.
Maile choose to wear her Hello Kitty shirt. She looks pretty cute. She also took a picture with her friend Cooper. She kept talking about him being in her class. I think she must be in nursery with him.

And this is her with Mrs. Lindsay. Her preschool will be so fun! Her basement is dedicated to preschool. She has kitchens and cave and a wall that you can write on with chalk. There is a big playground outside. I think she will have a lot of fun. She came home happy and ready to go back. Here's to a great year!!

And Maile wanted a picture with her sister, I think she wasn't liking all the attention, but it is Kiana's turn next week! I thought it was cute too. These girls are best friends (usually!!)

Lagoon

Steve's work had their yearly Lagoon trip. I was apprehensive about going with Jonas, but Steve got us all tickets. Next time, I think we need to go with friends or family, I think it would be more fun for everyone. We spent most of our time in the kiddie rides. Kiana was more scared this year than in the past. She didn't want to try much. Maile, however, was a little daredevil. She wanted to go on everything. I was worried how she would be with her acid reflux, but no one got sick. I have a million pictures, and we had a ton of fun! Lagoon, It's what fun is! One of us always had to be with Jonas, so we took turns riding with the girls! Actually, Steve had me do most of the riding. I think I'd rather sit out, but I had fun.
Steve took the girls swimming! The would be fish if they could.
I think the girls enjoyed the train ride with the animals the best! We are animal lovers in our family, yet, we don't have any of our own.
We had a great time as a family, and even without naps, the girls did pretty good! I think we had enough fun for awhile though, I think this Lagoon trip will last foe the next couple years. Can you tell I'm getting old?!?
