Where we met: Steven and I went to high school together. We knew of each other, but not much more than that. We were 19, hanging out at a Halloween party. We had the same friends, and I think both kind of interested. After that we kind of just hung out and were at the same place at the same time. Once he was visiting a friend in an upstairs apartment, I was below him on the basement apartment visiting my sister, and I started banging on the ceiling with a broom so that he would come down and talk to me.
We went on our first date: Our actual first date was a Kurt Bestor concert and Olive Garden. He had never really dated and so he didn't know how to act. He wasn't sure if he should order for me or not, hold my hand, or not...he was scared and it was funny!
How long we dated before we got married? Forever. We dated for 1 and 1/2 before our missions, wrote continually (probably more then to our parents) for two years of our missions, and then 1 year after our missions. A little over 4 years.
How long have we been married: A little over 5 years.
What is my favorite feature about him: He can always make me feel good about myself, I am always laughing with him, and he is the best Dad!
What's my favorite quality about him: his unconditional love, and that he is quick to forgive. He is always trying hard to do better.
What's his nickname for me: He makes up so many and they are never the same. They usually don't even make sense, but when he is being normal just honey or Kim. I can't even think of a crazy one, but believe me, they are too silly.
His favorite color: Green
His favorite sport: tennis and golf
Who said the L word first: He did, but only because I was mad at him. He was tryng to be funny, and so he was putting me down....I wasn't talking to him, so he pulled me aside, told me how sorry he was and that he loved me.
First kiss, where and when: Our friends tried to get us to do it under a mistletoe, but no way, not for a first kiss in front of everyone. The next day, he fixed the head light on my car, and felt he deserved a reward. I drove him home, he turned to me, gave me a quick peck, and dashed into the house. I sat their dumbfounded, surprised that was all there was to it for him. I don't think he even said goodbye.
Favorite couple thing to do: Watch movies and play board games. I love to sit and listen to him play the guitar.
His hidden talent: He plays the guitar, loves to look up recipes and try them out (they usually tuen out pretty good), and learning to do fix ups around the house. He got a book from home depot and put up our ceiling fans by himself. I was so proud. He can womp you on and game system and has found all 100 pokemon =)
His favorite music: weezer for sure...but any punk rock
What I admire most about him: his love for me and the kids. I love when he uses his priesthood and to listen to his prayers. He works so hard for us and keeps pursuing school, even when it has taken so long.
His favorite past times: Mostly hanging out with friends and Mt. Dew, hanging out in the canyons, skipping school. He loves to spend a day watching Star Wars and watched Aladdin every day for a whole summer.
Will he read this: Most likely not.
This was a lot of fun, and it helped me to appreciate my husband more. Give it a try...so I tag everyone =) Thanks Liz!!
