Being bound in a chair for 6 weeks due to a broken foot, it is really hard to get things done. I didn't realize Easter was so early this year. Normally, especially with a baby coming, I would have been prepared and had the shopping done in advance. Unfortunately, this is not a normal year.
Easter was only a few days away when I had a dear friend come to my rescue and buy Easter clothes and shoes. Steve ran to the store to pick up all the last minute goodies, and thankfully, my parents had enough to spoil all their grandchildren and make the weekend special. I even made it to sacrament with much help from my husband, to try to remember the real reason for Easter. We get so caught up in our own lives and trying to make every day special for the kids that sometimes we forget to really focus on the important things. I think we also wallow in our own pain and suffering, which is minimal, that we forget that our Savior has felt it all and really KNOWS what we are feeling. He not only knows and suffered for our sins, but for each pain, each heartache, each sorrow. I love my Savior and am grateful to know he rose above it all. He LIVES today and still loves me despite my weaknesses. Whether this was felt by my children, I am not sure, but hope they know our Savior and His love.
On Saturday, Steve went and did some fun things with the kids and his mom in the morning to celebrate Easter. I think they tried to go to an egghunt, but with difficult parking, they were 5 minutes late and 5 minutes late, you miss the whole thing. They went to the store and luckily they had some Easter things for the kids to do.
We later headed up to my parents for a family get together, my first real outing with baby and broken foot! My parents always spoil all of us and make family time so special. My kids are lucky to have such special grandparents that love them so much.

We, unfortunately, didn't die eggs either. My poor kids. Thinking about it after the fact, I feel pretty bad. We did our best though. The Easter Bunny was only able to hide plastic eggs, but I think the kids were still pretty happy and were able to get plenty of candy and toys.
My FOUR kids! Aren't they sweet! Jonas was too busy eating the candy out of the eggs to find anymore. Thankfully his big sisters helped him and everyone shared. Sometimes that is the what we need to see more then all the chaos. Just as the Savior was always helping others, my kids wanted everyone, just for that one moment, to be happy. They were very giving and sharing and full of love!
