Family Photos

We recently got some new family pictures taken. Here are a few. Kiana either had a finger in her mouth, a leg in the air, or was doing something else that was crazy. These are just photos are liked, I noticed some of them look the same... but you get the idea.

Happy Birthday Mom!

I just wanted to wish my mom a Happy Birthday. She is my hero and does so much for me and my family. She has always been a great example (I just have to say that since she is my most avid blog reader...just kidding), and we love her so much. My mom is my best friend, I call her like 20 times a day, and she feeds me and is always close by. We are so lucky to live near her!! We go shopping together, do church things, learn new recipes, canning, and so much more. I am blessed to call her mother and my children adore Grandma Lene. Thank you for everything.

IKEA and Kiana and the bike

Last week I went to IKEA for the first time ever!! Fun! Crystal and I were just hanging out and shopping. Her kids and Kiana went to the kids fun land, and we just walked around and roamed around. I bought many cute little things that were way cheap. We ate there, like lunchroom food, but not bad. Kiana enjoyed playing in the playland and later in the kid area.

This weekend we also did our family Thanksgiving with Steve's family. He has a pretty small family, but it is nice to get together, and Kiana just loves hanging out with her cousins. I'm always good for food, obviously. Poor Steve, he works hard does school, and then when he has a minute to sleep, I don't let him. We have family dinners, or family pictures, or just we never see Dad, so we want to hang out with him days. He tries hard and we love him for it. Another semester almost over. Anyway, Kiana and her cousin were playing ghost with the blankets and it turned out cute.

Here are also some pictures of Kiana and her Aunt Dondi. Dondi and her husband just bought a dirt bike and a four-wheeler, and she is trying to convince me that she is getting a helmet for Kiana for Christmas so Kiana can ride with her. Kiana is all for it, I'm just not sure I am.

She's ready! Isn't she cute?

Twilight

So, I did it. I went and got my tickets to twilight a few days ago. I'm not so crazy as I have to go at midnight or anything, and I'm pretty sure there will be no dressing up, but I am pretty excited. I was going to go with a friend, but, though my husband will never admit it, he really likes chic-flics. He hasn't read the books, but I am just excited we get to go on a real date, it has been forever, though we will still have Maile. At least she is easy!! I had to see the movie before everyone else could tell me about them. Hopefully it is good and comparable to the books.

Maile 4 months & Kiana's hair

Maile is 4 months old!! They grow so fast. I have been packing up all of Maile and Kiana's clothes that are now to little. It is so sad. For some reason it is harder packing Maile's. Probably because I remember packing up the same clothes of Kiana's only a short time ago, and now she is already soooo big.
We went to the doctors, everything looks great. She isn't remaining at the 97%. She is 14 lbs. which is the 75%. Her height is 25 in. which is 90%, and her head is also about 75%. She looks good and is always so happy. She is blowing rasberries, which the doctor said is a 9 month development. She rolls from belly to back, and is sitting up pretty good. We are going to try her on rice cereal this week, we'll see how that goes. We are so blessed to have her brighten up our family!!
We have been experimenting with hair lately on Kiana, and found some cool blogs to teach us some new tricks. Kiana is also learning to sit well while I complete my artwork!! (If not, mom is not very patient).
We have also been cleaning out the garage this week and taking things to DI. It feels so good to get rid of garbage, and have the garage back, to use it for it's actual purposes. One day we will use the basement for it's intended purposes too. Right now it is a storage facility. Maybe for my 30th, we can have it done so we can have a party down there. It would be so nice to put the kids toys down there too, instead of all over the house. If only we had the time, money, or even knowledge of how to do it.

Cookies for Halloween Anyone??

It has been so fun with the coming of Halloween. Kiana is finally old enough to enjoy it. This week we had some friends, Emily and Josh, invite us over to make sugar cookies. The kids all had so much fun, except when Kiana was bullying them. No one is going to want to play with us anymore, and we go over and over not biting and being nice. The funny thing is the kids kept licking off the frosting and then putting it back on the cookies, and picking off the candy. Cookies anyone? We knew we couldn't share them with just anyone, so grandpa and grandma had them =). Which, by the way, my parents loved these sugar cookies, and we need the recipe Emily.
Halloween was also pretty busy. We had fun getting pictures in the morning with our friend Meagan, and they turned out pretty good. It was pretty windy, but it all worked out. We had to get in naps and watch some friends, so we went home. Then we woke Dad up, who hadn's slept for a few days, and went to trick or treat on main street. It was fun. Kiana still gets tired pretty easy and just wanted to sit in the stroller. We rushed to the store to get things to make our Halloween tradition of chili and cornbread. And by the time we got home my parents were home. Mom and I stayed and finished the food while grandpa and Daddy and Kiana went trick or treating. I thought Kiana had the whole trick or treating down, but she more just wanted to stay and play with her grandparents. Dinner time and then grandma and moms turn to take her out. It just seemed we were ruching the whole time, and though she wasn't so sure about it, she sure is enjoying eating the candy(so are Mom and Dad). We had more trick or treaters come to our house then ever before too. It was fun, but I'm glad that is over for another year. By the time we are done with the candy, it will be time for Thanksgiving and Christmas, there goes any chance for a diet.
On Sunday, I was aslo put in as the compassionate service leader. I am nervous, I am better with kids, but it will be a nice change. And it frees me up on Sundays to still sub in primary once in awhile. The bishop also gave me a really nice blessing about knowing the needs of the sisters and still being here with my family. He talked about how blessed I am, and blessed me to work well with the relief society presidency.
Here are some other pictures from this week.
