Kiana always surprises me! and more pics.

Last night we had some mock missionaries over for dinner. The young men and young women in the ward had some missionaries come teach them a lesson on Sunday, and then it was their turn to be missionaries and teach the lesson. We had the sister missionary young women come since Steve wasn't here. We had a nice meal of enchiladas, salad, and brownies. During dinner, one of the young women asked Kiana if she knew who Joseph Smith was. She replied, "he prayed and saw Jesus." I was amazed. She should have gotten that from me, but didn't. But it goes to show how much she really does pay attention. Then they taught us about the Apostacy... they did a good job and they brought a sweet spirit to our home.

Valentine's With Friends!!

We didn't really have any plans for Valentine's Day and we were so excited when our good friends invited us to play the day away with them. They had planned everything perfectly. We started out with breakfast: pink pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, juice, the WORKS. It was so nice and fun.

After a quick nap, we went back and made cute Valentine's boxes and Valentine's for everyone else. We cut out and decorated the boxes and let our creative juices flow. Kiana just manly made the Valentine's by coloring them, and I made the box with things she likes. They were so cute and creative, and we later passed them out with candy! It was totally geared for the kiddos and I hope they appreciate it! We had to also watch the Charlie Brown Valetine specials.

Kiana always loves to play with their kids and follow them around! Sometimes they get annoyed, but usually they are pretty good about it. They are quite a few years older then her and she just hangs all over them.

Dinner was great too! I don't know how you could top breakfast, but they did. They got heart-shaped pizzas at Papa Murphy's, brought, them home, and then put their own toppings on. It was tomatoes and huge slices of mozarella, alfredo sauce, chicken, articoke hearts, and muchrooms, and the third was olives, mushrooms, and pepperoni. Sounds good! Then we had cupcakes, I sure didn't go hungry! It was a lot of fun, thanks to the Wright's.

Steve was also sure to get me some flowers! I just gave him some chocolates and a card. The girls got stuffed animals and candy, and chocolates. It was a nice day, though Steve had to work...like always. I miss spending time with him.

Draper Temple

Sorry I haven't blogged for awhile...I have been so crazy busy! We went to the Draper Temple open house on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009. It is a good thing to do for Friday the 13th. I went with my parents, a sister and her husband, my nephew Trenton, and the girls. I was sad Steve couldn't go, but he has such a busy schedule this semester.

It was such a nice trip! I'm glad I had help with Kiana and Maile though. We got there and went right through without any wait. I think it is better to go during the day on a week day =) It was nice to go through the tour, but I was especially happy to be with those that haven't ever been. Just to see their faces and be able to answer some questions was a good feeling...I hope they thought so also.

We went to a church first where they talked about the new temple and work done there, and then they bus you over to the temple, probably to help with parking and the step roads in the winter. Here we are on the bus!!

This is the family (minus me) that went. Trenton, KC, Kiana, Chani, Mom, Keith, and Maile! This is at the church where you finish up the tour and you get water and cookies (I'm all about the food!!) There are missionaries there to answer questions.

I am thankful that I could be there with some of my family. It helps me remember the blessings at the temple and that families are forever. I am glad my girls could go...to see it before they go through for themselves when they are older is rare and a blessing. I am thankful for the Spirit that is still felt there, even before it is dedicated. I'm glad we had the chance to go!!

Kiana's First Talk

I am so proud of Kiana. She had her first talk a couple of weeks ago. She is a sunbeam, and if you know sunbeams, you know how scared they are for their talks. They are usually really quiet, mom or dad end or doing it, or they belt it out in the microphone laughing and everyone has to plug their ears. Kiana was so brave. She marched right up to the microphone, said the words we practiced (plus a few more), and was done. When she was done, not so good. She wanted to leave with mom and dad and cried and we had to have a talk about how she goes to her class and we go to ours and then she went back in. Her talk was about how families are ordained of God.

God commanded Adam and Eve to have a family.

He commanded them to teach their family.

I have a family.

My Mom and Dad teach me to be nice to Baby Maile.

They teach me about Jesus.

They teach me to pray.
I love my family.

We had pictures for each sentence, and the last picture was of our family and she added I love Mom, Dad, and Baby Maile, and then closed the talk. I might be partial, but I think she did so awesome. I was amazed at how brave she was.

It was fun to watch her in primary also. She is not very good at sitting down, and of course, she loves singing time. She thinks she always has to be int he front doing things. She has gotten so big, I love my BIG girl!!

Fun with the Family!

My little sister is going out of town for a few months to work a flooring job with her husband. We wanted to have a get-together, since it might be awhile. I am so blessed witht he greatest family, I love to just hang out with all of them. It doesn't happen too often anymore with everyone's crazy schedules. We are going to miss Dondi and Jimmy a lot ans hope they will be safe while they are away.

And this is a picture of Maile asleep in my arms, so rare for this girl, but she was tuckered out. She only likes her bed, and since it was rare, I needed a picture. It's good she likes her bed, but I miss cuddling her when she is asleep. She is now 7 months, I can't believe it. It is a cute picture of her, but a terrible one of me...sorry!

I took the plunge!

I did it, I cut my hair! Now, I have cut my hair many times, but I CHOPPED it off. This will be the third time I am donating my hair to "Locks of Love", but the other times it got shorter but was still long. I think it probably hasn't been this short since I was 5. I still don't know what to think, but my sister cuts hair, and of course, did an excellent job. I keep trying to brush it over my shoulder, and it doesn't work, I try to pull it all back, it flies in my face. I guess it is just something I will have to get used to. Maile has a tendency to pull hair, and Kiana thought that Maile pulled it all off, it was kind of cute.

Everyone asks what made me decide to do it. I am tired of feeling fat and ugly, and this was the quickest fix, now I just need to go on a diet, that will take a little longer though.

Kiana loves these monkey jammies and wants to wear them 24/7. I don't know if it is because they match Maile's or they are cute or warm, she just loves them. If they are dirty, she throws such a fit, so yesterday she made me wash them and dry them before she went to bed so tonight she could wear them to g-ma and g-pa's house. She is so passionate about some things.

Maile always covers her face when sleeping, and while at a friends the other day she was sleeping in her car seat. I went in to check up on her, and this was her tangeled mess. That foot sticking out sure is cute.

Kiana and Maile have decided their favorite place to play is in the crib. I'm glad they play so good together!
