We went on a hayride....
And got to pet the horses....
We also enjoyed some fry bread together that was delicious. You can go there without tasting some yummy food. Sorry no photo...
We had some awesome people from our family come with us, Grandpa Keith, Chani, Braxton, and Trenton (but don't tell his friends - he is too old to do something like this and was embarrassed!!) They always come with us and support us and make things more fun!!
They would let the big kids in and then the small kids. It was so much easier for her that way. I think she would have had more fun with her sister, but she did okay.
Then she went fishing. They had a little kiddie pool set up with hundreds of small goldfish and you just tried to catch them with your hands. Maile was scared at first, but she got in there and did it. When the fish would tickle her hand she would let go. She got one fish for her and one to take home for sister. Kiana was so excited (Maile had told her about it on the phone), it was the only thing she could talk about and the first thing she wanted to see when she got home. Sadly, at her birthday party someone had dropped some salad dressing into the bowl and they both died the next morning. Our luck with fish isn't so hot, though we have had frogs for well over a year now!
Sh was totally engrossed with watching the girls do line dances and other things. They would jump up on the table to do songs like "YMCA" and she would just watch. Not much eating happened. I think that we were able to keep her mind off sister being gone for a few minutes, and we managed to have some fun!!
We had some coupons for tokens we got on-line for the girl's birthdays and then with our lunch we ordered more. We had something like 140. We just let the girls do whatever they wanted. It really wasn't that much for food, fun, and prizes at the end.
We then went to the mall to find Build A Bear. We had told Kiana for awhile that we were going there, but I don't think she knew what to expect. She was in heaven. We also let Maile pick out one so that she didn't feel left out. We forgot to take pictures, so these are after the fact when their animals where done! The girls picked out what they wanted, picked out a sound, stuffed them and gave them a heart, washed them and dressed them, named them and got a birth certificate. (When we found out we were pregnant with Kiana, we announced to our families by giving them a baby bear from Build A Bear, named it Baby Mullins, and it said coming in September!)!
Kiana got a dog that barks. She named her Allie. Maile got a bear she named Annabelle. She wanted Allie (she always has to copy her big sister), it took 20 minutes to pick a name and then I just did it. She could not be persuaded. They love their animals, the houses that they came in, and they sleep with them every night and carry them around everyday. It was a good idea.
We ended the day with Costco and Shoe Carnival. The girls have wanted the twinkle toe sketchers that some of their friends had. We got them both a pair. Maile is so funny. She had to sleep with hers on. Once she was asleep, I took them off. When she woke in the morning, I heard banging in her room. I walked in her room, she had them on, and was banging on her bed to make them light up. They love them, but one hint, at night in the car, take them away. They look like the lights on police cars chasing you. I have freaked out a few times.
A busy, expensive, but very enjoyable day. I hope Kiana had a fun fifth birthday, but I'm about ready for her to stop growing!
The girls loved sleeping in the pop up, running around in the dirt, and eating dough nuts and chocolate milk every morning. They got in lots of hikes and exporing, and plenty of getting dirty. Roasting marshmellows is a must, and Steve spolied them by letting them watch movies in bed on the portable dvd player, just relaxing and having a good time without worries.
