North Willow Camping

We love our little camping spot in North Willow, right next to a little stream.  Steve never has two days off in a row, and everytime he gets one set, off we go camping.  This year it happened sooner than last.  After packing our van full, we go hitch up the trailer at Steve's parents and we're off.  This year while unloading we had to drop everything and run to the Urgent Care (see previous post).  We hadn't quite unpacked and couldn't find anything to clean a wound with, but thankfully while in town we were able to eat at Cafe Rio (Maile's choice due to her head trauma).  We had packed enough food to last the whole trip, but with a slight problem.  Due to many fires in Utah this year, we were unable to start a fire to cook our food.  Cafe Rio came in handy that night!  We rushed home to finally set up camp for the night.

I love camping.  I love the nature, the peace and quiet.  I love that the kids can play and get wet with no worries (just don't come and get in the trailer like that!!)  I love the family time and playing games and having a good book to read!  Sleep time is always hard.  The girls giggle and play and Jonas is out of his element, especially when he can see us and wants to play.  Nap time only came when exhaustion hit.

I mostly keep Jonas in his stroller, too hard chasing a dirty baby away from the water.

It was perfect weather at night, but jacket weather in the morning (only for a few minutes)
Our second night there, we had some good friends meet us up there.  The kids were in heaven and we enjoyed good company and fun!  We had a dutch oven chicken dinner (is heating the coals a fire?!?) and they brought up tons of goodies.  No smores, but the cookies were yummy!  We played in the water, told ghost storied, and played games until nobody could keep their eyes open.

The next morning we took a SMALL hike and packed up and hit the road.   It has been a hot year, and we were baking by 10 in the morning.  Plus, once we packed a few things, we just kept going until our whole camp was packed up.

Steve and Jonas.  Hard to push a stroller on the rocks.

The Powelson's.

It was too hot and too many kids to hike for long.
