And we are having....

So, my grrrrreat ideas always backfire.  I have been planning for months on announcing the gender with a gender cake, pink if it's a girl, blue for a boy.  I suck at making cakes, so I tried three places looking for someone to make it.  Either they hadn't heard of it or didn't have time.  Heck, I can do this all by myself, and IT WILL BE AWESOME! 
I bought all the needed items and went over to a friends house so the kids wouldn't accidentally see the color.  We made a pretty cake, it tasted yummy, it fell to pieces.  Second try, we extra floured the pans and made it dark.  I had to run home to clean, and finish dinner, and be there when family came.  Thanks to my friend Annie for helping with the cakes and taking over!  The second cake turned out so much better, however, it still cracked and you could see the color through the frosting.  No problem, we will leave it outside until the unveiling, but the kids kept peeking.  It was a good idea....  We know for next time, put the cakes in the fridge (had there been time).

Can you tell?  IT'S A BOY!  We are super excited, 2 boys, 2 girls!  It's perfect for us.  Never leave picture taking to the hubby, however, this is all we got!
