We weren't sure if we were going to have much of a Christmas due to illness at our house. We seem to have gone to a doctor almost every day this week. First a broken arm, then getting it casted, then the first round of strep (the doctor wouldn't give us prescriptions for all of us for just in case), then round two with strep. Luckily Steve, Jonas, and I were spared! We felt after no more symptoms and two days of medications that maybe we were safe enough to venture out to party!
My Dad and his wife came to our house to open presents with the kids. Grandma Debbi made skirts for the girls and gave each of the kids shirts and Levi jackets. They are excited to wear them to church!
We then went to my dad's family Christmas Eve Party. We enjoy seeing family that we don't often get to see. Yummy food, gifts, and fun!
We rushed home, not too fast due to accumulating snow, to have our own Christmas traditions! Yeah for a white Christmas though we had white knuckles treading home!!
We opened our sweet Christmas jammies, the kids loved theirs and thankfully mine covered the big belly! We covered the snow in reindeer food for our midnight guests and made cookies for a Jolly man to devour! We read the Christmas story in the Bible and talked of the special night and our Savior's birth. Though it seems rushed, I love our own traditions and that I can spend it with those I love the most!
