Lost Necklace

This is just a story I always want to remember and hope my kids always remember, so I needed to write it down. This past weekend Kiana went to Yellowstone with her grandparents. They had a lot of fun. Kiana and Maile have really been into necklaces lately, and so the main souvenior Kiana bought was 3 necklaces for her and 3 for Maile.

Maile doesn't quite understand nice jewelery, she thinks they just all stretch over her head when she wants them off. We went to the park the day after she got this new beautiful black beaded necklace with a stone bear on it. While playing with friends at the park, she decided she wanted it off. She pulled and the necklace broke all over the ground, unknown to me. A few minutes later, she brought me the string and told me about it. I felt so bad, my parents had just given it to her the day before. It probably wasn't a big deal, but it still bothered me. I looked and looked all over for over a half hour, but no luck and I thought I should get back to my friends. We did another sweep before we left, but we couldn't find it and we had to get to Kiana's graduation. After the graduation, we had a few minutes before meeting family for dinner, so we dropped by the park again. Kiana offered a sweet prayer to help us find it, and immediately after, we started finding beads. Remember we had looked forever before. We still hadn't found the bear and I thought that was the most important thing. Kiana said another prayer, but then she went and played in the rocks. I didn't want to leave without finding it, especially after the prayers, I didn't want them to think they went unanswered. We ended up looking for over an hour and knew we were late to the dinner, we had to leave. I asked Steve to look one more time before we left and as we were heading over by where we found the beads, about 12 feet away, by a tree in a different location, we found the bear. It was so awesome. I didn't think after all that time, we would find it and I doubted. I know Heavenly Father answered the girls prayers and I am very gratful that they had this experience to always remember and gain a testimony of prayer. They know Heavenly Father helped them. And here are some pictures of us with our friends at the park.

All in all, we had a good time. 3 out of the 4 of us had babies within about 6 weeks of each other, and we all have one going into kindergarten, so they are all close in age. It is fun to get together and hang out and just let the kiddos play!
