The other night the girls were on the bed fighting over said babies. Maile proceeded to run away from Kiana, right off the bed. She split her frenulum, the thin gum between your lip and the top of your teeth, and got blood everywhere. Thankfully, having assisted dentists for years, I wasn't too panicked. This is the greatest reason for children dental ER visits, but the child does their own surgery. It isn't supposed to be connected so low (and isn't always), so when a child falls and cuts it, they won't do stitches or anything, just a popcicle. Luckily, we have popcicles on hand!! Later in life, if this doesn't happen, then you most likely need surgery to cut it if you need braces or have a gap due to it or if you need dentures. I guess it was bound to happen and worked out in the end, but it is hard to see your child injured.
Maile walked around with a fat lip for a few days. We are just glad we didn't have to go to the ER and I knew what to do.

Glad it wasn't more dramatic . . .and thanks for the tip, I'm sure that will be happening to us soon.
